Our Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition Review
The Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition, also known as the Samsung S8300, follows on from the hugely successful Samsung Tocco of 2008. However, this time the phone comes with all of the benefits of the previous mobile phone as well as providing a choice between a keypad and a touch screen.
One of the best features of the mobile phone is the 8MP camera. This is pretty impressive for a camera phone, and it also comes with a very small shutter lag to make taking pictures even easier. As well as this, the camera includes an anti-shake function and blink detection to prevent taking photos of people with their eyes closed. However, if anything is lacking with the camera it is that it only comes with a dual LED flash.
Once you’ve taken pictures using the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition, the phone then allows you to upload them to sites such as Facebook and Flickr, as it has a presetting function for instant uploads. This nifty features is great for all those social networking fans who want to keep their contacts updated on the go.
As well as the camera, the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition also comes with a decent video camera with VGA resolution. Although this is nothing special compared to some of the other phones on the market, the screen is one of the mobile phone’s strongest features. The 2.8-inch AMOLED display is sharp and vivid, which makes for great video playback.
The Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition looks great, and is solidly built as well. The touch screen adds an element of class, although it is not as responsive as some of the other touch screens out there.
The lack of Wi-Fi connectivity and no 3.5 mm headphone jack are disappointing, but the plus points far outweigh the negative with this model.
Other features that make the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition a great mobile phone include a GPS receiver, an MP3 player, Bluetooth and an external MicroSD card with up to 16GB external storage.
All the basics that you would expect to find are also here, including a calendar, clock, alarm, currency converter, calculator and others, making the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition an all-round model that is sure to prove one of Samsung’s top sellers this year.
