Our Samsung Bound Review
The Samsung Bound (or Samung B2700) is built to be one tough phone. Made from urethane with IP54 certification, not only can it be dropped, knocked and battered without fear, but is also splash and dust proof.
All this means that the Bound is designed especially for those with a more active lifestyle, and will suit either those who want to be able to take their phones with them on their various activities, or people whose jobs involve working outside.
In addition to being one of the most solid phones on the market, it also comes with an array of tools that will be of service to those exploring the wilderness, including a torch, compass, pedometer and altimeter, so that even if you are too far into the bush to get a signal, you will still be able to get some use out of the handset.
But although the Samsung Bound has clearly been built with solidity and durability in mind, it also has a number of features included that make it a fairly decent phone in this department as well.
Even if you can’t pick up a signal, you will still have an FM radio built into the phone, and on top of this there is an MP3 player to listen to your own tunes or play ones that have been downloaded from the Internet.
Admittedly, the 2-megapixel camera isn’t great and certainly looks a bit basic these days, but it is nice to have it there all the same. And as well as this, the Samsung Bound boasts 3G connectivity and a WAP browser, meaning it has pretty much everything that could be required for a phone of this type.
With 350 hours standby time, it can go on fairly long trips without the need to recharge, but the five hours talk-time is not particularly great. Perhaps Samsung had this in mind as an emergency handset, in which case it does the job perfectly.

Adrienne submitted on 22 August 2009This mobile phone is very outdoorzy, if you're looking for something durable… this is it. The B2700 fell a couple of times on the ground without getting scratched or damaged… which felt great given that other handsets start acting crazy after such falls
