Nokia E63

3 PhonesThe Nokia E63 is billed as a phone for both personal and professional lives, preventing the need to switch between phones
Our Nokia E63 Review
The Nokia E63 mobile phone is the latest in the impressive E-series from Nokia, following directly on from the highly successful E71. The phones share a very similar appearance, both coming with a full Qwerty keypad, but the E63 is slightly more chunky and also comes in a choice of two brighter colours, officially described by Nokia as ‘ruby red’ and ‘ultramarine blue’.
The Nokia E63 is billed as a phone for both personal and professional lives, preventing the need to switch between phones. To promote this, Nokia has provided a function whereby the press of a button can change the phone from corporate mode to personal mode, allowing the user to contact clients one minute and post to social networking sites the next.
Wi-Fi connectivity is a big plus point, and the phone can display whole Web pages with easy navigation around them. The clear keypad with buttons that are easy to press is a strong feature, and makes it an ideal phone for sending text messages and emails.
However, overall the E63 has less features than its predecessor the E71, lacking HSDPA and GPS, and this is reflected in the cheaper price tag. As well as this, the 3.5mm headphone socket is a noticeable improvement in the E-series range.
The 2MP with LED flash camera is nothing special, but then the E63 is not really being billed as a phone that takes excellent pictures. A camera on a smart phone is simply a standard feature that is to be expected.
Overall, the Nokia E63 is a good quality phone, both in the solid plastic cover and the quality of the features it includes, but you should be under no illusion that the main point of the phone is to send messages. The call quality is good but nothing to shout about, so if you like sending emails and don’t want to carry different phones for your work and personal lives, then the E63 could be the one for you.

Devin C submitted on 23 July 2009Crackberry… that's what they should call it. The E63 is much better than a blackberry, as it is not consumed with competition with the iPhone.. It simply delivers what needs to be delivered. Up there - one of the best handsets I've owned in years
Dylan M. submitted on 10 May 2009At first, I thought it's a blackberry.. It's very hard to tell upon first look. It does pack great features but def not an alternative for a blackberry, as the two are fundementally different
